Lambretta Scooter Restorations

Hi Paul

Please find attached some more photo's.

I purchased the scooter on eBay for less than £300 not really knowing one end of a Lambretta from the other. I hadn't researched the project before I put my bid in and only after receiving a 'You've Won!' did I start to think about restoring a Starstream. After googling away in the internet, speaking to a few scooter suppliers I soon started to realise that this 40 year old scooter could be something of a white elephant. Persistence prevailed, I stripped the bike down and sent the frame, panels and painted components off to the blasters, whom also kindly prepared the bike for re-spaying. They did such a good job of the preparation work that I asked the to do the full paint job. It came back gleaming, like new with a total 'wow' factor attached. I had arranged for Mike Phoenix (Denton Manchester) to completely strip and rebuild the engine, who equally did a fine job. Most of the parts, trim and odd bits were sourced from Scooter Restorations and a number of other pieces being obtained from either eBay or specialist suppliers. Paul at SR was kind enough to pass on valuable information and alternative suppliers if they couldn't assist me. The potential white elephant turned out to be a great little scooter - so much so that my wife has decided to take her CBT and ride it herself. The project took less than three months to complete and now look forward to the next.
