Cancellations and Returns

Your Right to Cancel

You have 14 days from receipt of goods to cancel your order without reason under The Consumer Contracts Regulations 2014

If you wish to exercise your 'Right To Cancel' please inform our Customer Services team in writing of your intention to make a return within 14 days of receipt of the goods (email is acceptable, please include 'Right To Cancel' in the subject line). Then use the following procedure:

You should arrange for the goods to be returned to us in their original condition and unopened packaging

We will refund all monies paid by you for the goods (including delivery costs), except for the return postal charges, within 14 days of your cancellation

Faulty Goods

If the goods returned are found by us to be faulty, we will refund all monies paid by you for the goods (including delivery costs) together with any return postal charges you may have incurred (subject to these being reasonable)

The Consumer Rights Act - Circumstances when customers do have a legal right to a refund, repair or replacement

Customers do have a legal right to a refund, repair or replacement if an item they purchased

• Does not match the description
• Is not of satisfactory quality
• Is not fit for purpose.

Each of these circumstances would mean that the item does not conform to contract and therefore it can be described as faulty

Scooter Restorations are responsible for the goods we sell and if a customer returns an item they purchased from us that is faulty (it does not conform to contract) because it;

• Does not match the description
• Is not of satisfactory quality
• Is not fit for purpose.

We (not the manufacturer or supplier) are legally obliged to resolve the matter with the customer at any time for up to six years from the date of purchase, or in Scotland for up to five years from the discovery of the problem

Circumstances when customers do not have a legal right to a refund, repair or replacement

Customers do not have a legal right to a refund, repair or replacement if they;

• Accidentally damaged the item
• Misused it and caused a fault
• Tried to repair it themselves or had someone else try to repair it, which damaged the item
• If they knew it was faulty before they bought it

• If they decide they no longer want the item (for example it’s the wrong size or colour, or does not suit them).

Our responsibilities as a retailer

Under The Consumer Rights Act, when we sell something to a customer we have an agreement or contract with you.

All goods sold will;

Match their Description

By law everything that is said about the product must not be misleading – whether this is said by a sales assistant, or written on the packaging, in-store, on advertising materials or in a catalogue

Be of satisfactory quality

Quality of goods includes:
• Appearance and finish
• Freedom from minor defects (such as marks or holes)
• Safe to use
• In good working order
• Durability

Be fit for purpose

If a customer says – or when it should be obvious to the retailer – that an item is wanted for a particular purpose, even if it is a purpose the item is not usually supplied for, and the retailer agrees the item is suitable, or does not say it is not fit for that purpose, then it has to be reasonably fit.

Returning Goods

Please package all returned items carefully preferably in their original packaging

All returns made using your 'Consumer Rights Act' (as set out above) should be sent using First Class Royal Mail or Parcel Force depending on the weight of the item. Please ensure you choose the most economical method of postage as unreasonable postage costs will not be refunded.

We will not accept any liability for damage or loss caused by the carrier whilst items are in return transit.
